How to Add New Vocabulary to Chartnote

Add words and phrases to your speech recognition vocabulary.
Ensure new acronyms or names are transcribed correctly when you dictate.



These steps show you how to add custom vocabulary—including acronyms and pronunciations—to improve speech-to-text accuracy in Chartnote.

Steps

  1. Go to chartnote.com and open any note.

  2. Click Speech-to-text settings.

  3. Select Vocabulary.

  4. Click Add vocabulary.

  5. Type the word or phrase you want to add.

  6. (Example) Enter HFpEF.

  7. If it’s an acronym, check the Abbreviation box.

  8. (Optional) In the Pronunciation field, type how it should sound.

  9. (Example) Enter hefpef.

  10. Click and hold the mic button while recording the pronunciation.

    • ⚠️ You must hold the button until finished recording.

  11. Click Save.

  12. ✅ Done! Your new vocabulary will now be recognized in speech-to-text.

Tips

  • Use clear, simple phonetic spellings for pronunciation.

  • You can add as many custom entries as you need.

  • Editing or deleting vocabulary can be done from the same Vocabulary section.
