How to Adjust Browser Screen Size When Using Chartnote and Your EHR
When using Chartnote alongside your EHR, you might encounter a blue screen prompting you to use the mobile app if you reduce the size of your browser window too much. If you need to resize the browser to about a third of your screen to work efficiently, there's a simple solution to ensure all UI elements fit nicely.
If you like keeping Chartnote side-by-side with your EHR, shrinking the browser too much can trigger a blue screen suggesting the mobile app. Here’s how to keep everything visible.
Step-by-step
-
Resize your browser window
Click and drag the window edges so it’s roughly one-third of your screen.
-
Watch for the blue screen
If the window gets too narrow, you’ll see a blue prompt to use the mobile app. That’s your cue to adjust zoom.
Zoom out to fit all UI elements
Fine-tune as needed
If text feels too small, nudge zoom up one step:
-
Windows/Linux: Ctrl + +
-
Mac: Cmd + +
(Optional) Reset to default zoom
Return to 100% anytime:
-
Windows/Linux: Ctrl + 0
-
Mac: Cmd + 0
Alternate ways to change zoom
Tips for side-by-side workflow
-
Snap windows (Windows): Drag a window to the left or right edge until it “snaps,” or press Win + ← / →.
-
Split View (Mac): Hover the green traffic-light button → Tile Window to Left/Right of Screen.
You’re all set—resize, zoom out a notch, and keep Chartnote + your EHR visible without the mobile prompt.
