How to scan Chartnote QR code to sync with your mobile device

You can use the Chartnote Mobile app as a microphone for Chartnote.com or the Chartnote Chrome Extension. Here’s how to connect your devices using a QR code.


Step-by-step (for Chartnote Web)

  1. Download & open the Chartnote Mobile app

    • Available on the App Store and Google Play.

  2. Tap the QR symbol
    This opens the scanner inside the mobile app.

  3. Choose connection type
    Select whether you want to link your device with:

    • Chartnote.com (web app)

    • Chartnote Chrome Extension

    For this example, choose Chartnote.com.

  4. Generate QR code on your computer
    On Chartnote.com, open a web note and click the QR option.

  5. Wait for the QR code to appear
    A unique QR code will be displayed on your screen.

  6. Scan the QR code
    Use the mobile app’s QR scanner to pair your phone with Chartnote.

  7. Start dictating
    Once synced, turn on the microphone in the app and dictate directly into your note.

Step-by-step (for Chrome Extension)

If you prefer to dictate into any web-based EMR system, link your phone to the Chartnote Chrome Extension instead:

  1. Open the Chartnote Chrome Extension in your browser.

  2. Click the QR option inside the extension.

  3. Select the QR symbol to generate a code.

  4. A QR code will appear on your screen.

  5. On your mobile app, select “Link with Chrome Extension.”

  6. Scan the QR code with your phone.

  7. Start dictating—your phone will act as a microphone for any web-based EHR.
