Our speech models can be accent and specialty-specific. You can also select between British and American spelling.
By default you will find these preferences selected:
Spelling: US Sp.
Accent: American English
Language Model: General Medicine
These should work fine for most clinicians in Primary Care practicing in the United States or Canada.
But, for example, if you are an orthopedic surgeon that practices in the United States, and you have a general American English accent. You probably want choose the following settings in your language model:
Spelling: US Sp.
Accent: American English
Language Model: Surgery
On the other hand, if you are a pediatrician that practices in the UK, and have a standard British accent. You probably want choose the following settings in your language model:
Spelling: UK Sp.
Accent: Global English
Language Model: Pediatrics
If you are in Australia, you might want to select your accent as Global English.
How to Edit Your Speech Model Settings
Follow these simple steps to customize your speech model preferences, including spelling, accent, and language settings.
Step 1: Access Your Profile
Click on your profile avatar, located in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Step 2: Open Settings
From the dropdown menu, click on Settings.
Step 3: Navigate to Preferences
Once inside Settings, go to the Preferences tab.
Step 4: Locate the Speech Model Section
Scroll down until you find the Speech Model section.
Step 5: Edit Your Speech Settings
Make any necessary changes to the Spelling, Accent, and Language Model options.
Step 6: Save Your Changes
Click Save to apply your updated speech model settings.
