How to Set Up Automatic Note and File Deletion

Use Chartnote’s auto-deletion settings to automatically remove notes and audio files after a set number of days. This helps you stay organized while maintaining privacy and security by ensuring older data is regularly cleared from your account.

Step-by-step guide: 

  1. Log in to Chartnote Web
    Open Chartnote in your browser and go to the home page. 

  2. Open Settings
    From the right-side panel, click Settings.

  3. Go to Preferences
    Inside Settings, on the left-side of your dashboard, select Preferences.

  4. Set your Note Retention Policy

    • At the top, find Note Retention Policy.

    • Check the box for Auto-delete notes On.

    • Choose a timeframe (1–30 days) for how long notes are kept.

  5. Set your File (Audio) Retention Policy

    • Scroll to File Retention Policy.

    • Select the box for Auto-delete audio files On.

    • Choose a timeframe (1–30 days) for audio storage.

  6. Save your changes
    Click Save (or confirm changes). Your retention rules apply going forward.
