Fix Chartnote Audio Processing Errors by Whitelisting Required Network Resources

Audio Processing Not Working? Ask Your IT Team to Whitelist a Required Chartnote Resource

Overview

Chartnote uses advanced browser-based audio processing to prepare recordings for transcription and AI note generation. In some healthcare organizations, network security policies, firewalls, web filters, or endpoint protection software may block access to required resources.

If audio processing fails, recordings do not upload, or transcription does not start, your IT department may need to allow access to a required content delivery network (CDN) resource used by Chartnote.

Action Required for IT Administrators

Please ensure that the following URL is accessible from user workstations and is not blocked by firewall, proxy, web filtering, endpoint security, or network security policies:

https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@ffmpeg/core@0.12.10/dist/umd/ffmpeg-core.js

Why This Is Required

Chartnote uses FFmpeg, a widely used open-source audio processing library, to prepare audio files before they are securely transmitted for transcription and note generation.

The library is delivered through jsDelivr, a globally distributed content delivery network (CDN) that provides fast and reliable delivery of web application resources.

Blocking this resource can prevent Chartnote from:

  • Processing recorded audio
  • Preparing audio for upload
  • Starting transcription workflows
  • Generating AI notes from recordings

Symptoms of a Blocked Resource

Users may experience one or more of the following:

  • Audio recordings remain stuck in processing
  • Uploads never begin
  • Transcriptions fail to start
  • Browser console errors referencing FFmpeg
  • Unexpected audio processing failures

Allow outbound HTTPS (TCP port 443) access to:

  • cdn.jsdelivr.net
  • The specific URL listed above

No inbound firewall changes are required.

Security Information

  • The resource is delivered over HTTPS.
  • The library is publicly available and widely used across many web applications.
  • Access is read-only and used solely to load the audio processing component required by Chartnote.
  • No patient data is stored on the CDN.

Need Additional Assistance?
