AI Scribe Auto-Save: Never Lose a Recording Again

In Progress Notes - Your Notes are Always Saved

Your AI Scribe recording is never lost: introducing auto-save for in-progress notes

We've shipped auto-save for AI Scribe on Chartnote web — and from this point on, your recording is safe the moment you hit record.

What changed

Every AI Scribe and Voice Chart session on Chartnote web is now saved as a draft in the background, automatically and continuously. Close the tab, lose your connection, or shut down your laptop — when you come back, your note will be right there waiting for you, marked as "In Progress."

No extra clicks. No "save before you leave" reminders. Nothing for you to remember.

How it works

1. Start recording. Hit record like you always have. AI Scribe immediately saves your session as a draft in the background — there's nothing new for you to learn.

2. Pause, switch, or close — it doesn't matter. Move to another note, lose your connection, or close the browser entirely. Your recording is stored safely as "In Progress."

3. Pick up right where you left off. Find your draft note, listen back to the recording to confirm exactly where you stopped, and continue. Nothing lost.

Every time you start a new AI Scribe or Voice Chart, an In Progress note gets created saving you recording.

No note left behind — even if:

  • You accidentally close the browser
  • Your computer shuts down unexpectedly
  • You get interrupted mid-session
  • You switch to another note before finishing

Why this matters

Most AI scribe tools assume a clean, uninterrupted recording from start to finish. Real clinical work rarely looks like that — you step out to take a call, a patient question pulls you to another chart, the Wi-Fi drops, or a tab gets closed by mistake at the end of a long day.

Auto-save is built around how documentation actually happens — in fragments, between tasks, across multiple notes. Your tools should keep up with that, not the other way around.

Try it in your next session

There's nothing to enable. Auto-save is on by default for every AI Scribe user on Chartnote web, starting now. Just open Chartnote and start your next note — the safety net is already in place.
