The Chartnote DrChrono integration allows you to send AI-generated clinical notes directly into your DrChrono templates using the Chartnote Chrome extension.
With Intelligent Mapping, you can connect sections of your Chartnote document (SOAP, HPI, Assessment, Plan, etc.) to specific fields inside DrChrono. Once configured, your notes transfer instantly — no manual formatting or retyping required.

When you open the Chartnote Chrome extension while working inside DrChrono:
The extension automatically detects when a patient chart is open in DrChrono
Your Chartnote notes appear inside the extension panel
You can instantly apply your saved mapping and transfer the note
The first setup takes just a few minutes — after that, charting becomes effortless.
To use the DrChrono integration, make sure you have the Chartnote Chrome extension installed and are logged into your Chartnote account.
The integration works entirely through the browser and does not require additional software.
Navigate to a patient encounter in DrChrono.
Once the patient chart is open, launch the Chartnote Chrome extension.
The extension will automatically recognize that you are inside DrChrono and prepare the integration workflow.
To begin mapping your notes:
Click Set up mapping in the Chartnote extension
You’ll see:
Chartnote sections on the left
DrChrono template fields on the right
Drag a Chartnote section onto the corresponding DrChrono field
You can map:
SOAP sections
Narrative summaries
Assessment & Plan
Custom note sections
Assign multiple Chartnote sections to a single DrChrono field
Remove or adjust mappings at any time
Save different mappings for different templates
Once finished, click Save and Apply.
You only need to complete this setup once per DrChrono template.
After mapping is saved:
Select the note you want to send
Click Apply Mapping
Your documentation is instantly transferred into DrChrono
